After serving as Festival Director from 2016-2018, Katy is now on the Board of Directors for the Ad Astra Music Festival, a month-long classical music festival in Russell, Kansas. Each year Ad Astra Music Festival mounts a dozen productions, including operas, chamber music, and choral/orchestral works, over the course of four weekends in a town of 4,000 residents in rural Kansas.

Katy is a frequent guest conductor. Recent engagements include the Widefield District Honor Choir, Ad Astra Music Festival, Denver Public Schools Citywide Honor Choir, Westminster Vocal Institute, and Xiamen Philharmonic Choir.

In addition to her work as a conductor, Katy is also an active singer. She has performed with the Evans Choir, St. Martin's Chamber Choir, Anima Chamber Choir, and at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Denver, as well as the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir. During her time in Princeton, New Jersey she sang with the Westminster Choir, Westminster Kantorei, and the Westminster Symphonic Choir, where she performed with orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Berliner Philharmoniker, under conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nezek-Seguin, and Gustavo Dudamel, among many others. She has also performed at the White House, Kennedy Center, and with Andrea Bocelli, Celine Dion, and Tony Bennett for Concerto: One Night in Central Park.

Katy is an active member of Chorus America, the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), and the Colorado Music Education Association (CMEA).

In 2021, Katy relocated to Leysin, Switzerland to become the Associate Director of Communications and Strategic Projects at Leysin American School, a boarding school in the Swiss Alps with over 300 students from across the globe, representing over 60 nationalities. Offering US High School Diploma, International Baccalaureate, and ESL programs, students enjoy extracurricular activities in sports, arts, drama, and music, and are able to take part in a ski term and cultural travel.
